Korey Jackson is a kind human that has a fantastic eye for photography, a talented graphic artist, and radiates positive energy. Not only has he been standing on the front lines protesting, he has been creating graphics from the heart. Thankfully he took some of that energy and was willing to sit down and do a picture this segment.

I AM NOT AT PEACE
This is one of my favorite letterpress pieces that I’ve done. It was an assignment that focused on making a broadside, in which I took as a moment to kind of dig deep into shit I cared about to wanted to bring to light. At the time I think depression was a pretty big topic and also one of my favorite artists Kid Cudi had wrote this really personal letter to his fans about all the shit he’s been battling as well as checking into rehab so I decided to focus on men and our/their depression. The last line is a quote from “GHOST!” by Cudi.

Tales from the Grip ll Design
This was designed for our second annual “Tales from the Grip” event with the good people from SHAKENFK, O’Connor Brewing Co., and Nomarama. The whole design was [obviously] inspired by ‘Tales from the Crypt’, while keeping the whole book cover look. One of my favorite t-shirt graphics to date.

Bomb Cyclone.png

BOMB CYCLONE
This photo was taken on the first night that our area, Ghent/Norfolk, would be hit by tons of snow due to a “bomb cyclone” snow storm. I was just out with hella homies hopping around whatever bars were still open. We ended up at Public House to drink the night away and when they closed up, the streets were empty, snow was piled up, and I can’t remember what actually led to this photo, but I caught the homie James (pictured) in the middle of the street, pretty backlit due to all the snow and lights behind him, which made for a pretty cool silhouetted shot.

Destination Solitude
What I love about this picture is that every time I look at it, it just brings me peace. From the film tones, processing defects, and all, it just gives off a sense of calmness that feels good. This was one of three photos I had on view for a show me and the homies from our photo collective called “The Night Shift” had during NEON Festival at the Glass Wheel Studio, shoutout to Cheryl for looking out!

PHOTOGRAPHER'S FORUM "BEST OF PHOTOGRAPHY 2017"
This photograph made it into the ‘Photographer’s Forum “Best of Photography 2017” book. We were just out skating the night before Christmas Eve and Binkley was out trying to get a clip. Came out with this shoot and a few months later this contest came up and I decided to just give it a go and it got selected out of tens of thousands of other entries.
